Pilothouse Spec Sheet (pdf)
Based on the original highly successful Tollycraft designed hull, this boat offers
luxury, ease of handling, and performance that must be experienced to be appreciated.
Reliable propulsion and control systems matched to a solidly built and proven
hull ensures that this is a seaworthy vessel with exceptional performance.
At a nominal length of 48 feet (54 feet overall) finding suitable moorage while
cruising is not a problem, but at the same time there is sufficiently large interior
space for comfortable accommodations and entertaining.
& Command Bridge
The master helm resides in the raised Pilothouse and features full instrumentation,
controls and displays. Ample room is provided for charts and other reference material.
Next to the Pilothouse table and settee a sturdy ladder/staircase rises to the
Command Bridge - with a wrap-around sectional sofa to comfortably seat seven guests.
There is abundant stowage in the settee and the open bridge deck provides access
to the aft deck and outer stowage lockers.
The large Main Salon area awaits your appointments and decorations. The onboard
entertainment centre includes VCR/Television and AM/FM/CD stereo with antenna
system. The bright open salon is finished in-house in beautifully detailed, cherry
wood décor, joinery and cabinetry and is much what you would expect in
mega-yacht styling, airy and spacious. The darkly tinted windows let in plenty
of light while also preserving privacy.
A spacious aft deck is accessed by a large sliding glass door from the main salon
and leads to the swim deck boarding platform at dock level.
The breathtaking Galley is forward on the same level, but partially separated
from the salon by a cherry panelled island and overhead china cabinet. The gourmet
galley is fitted with a 7 cubic foot refrigerator/freezer, electric 3 burner ceramic
range top, a full size convection/microwave oven and Corian solid surface counter
tops and sink. Drawer and cabinet storage is abundant, and the quality is hard
to compare. The cook can work efficiently and still be a part of the social scene.
The lower accommodations level is accessed via a delightful spiral staircase starboard
of the main helm. At the foot of the staircase the VIP Stateroom is forward and
the Master Stateroom is aft. The Master Stateroom berth is positioned about dead
centre of the yacht where the motion is least. Both staterooms feature island
queen-size berths, efficient use of lighting, aromatic cedar lined closets and
ensuites with showers and Vacuflush heads. The storage is impressive in each stateroom.
The engine room - entered from the aft deck - is the heart of the Wendon 480.
The generator provides ample power and is enclosed in a sound shield cabinet for
a very quiet operation. Powered by twin 420 horsepower Caterpillar 3126 turbo
diesels the 480 performance pilothouse yacht cruises comfortably at around 16
knots. The engine room clearly makes a statement of integrity for Wendon Yachts.
When you inspect the perfection of the mechanical and electrical systems, you
then understand the degree of excellence to which Wendon Yachts are constructed.
On modern yachts great expectations are placed on electrical systems. The systems
must be safe, meet or exceed recognized standards, provide trouble-free operation,
and have all the wire runs and connections neatly installed. Wendon Yachts is
confident that electrical installation on its yachts sets a very high standard
for craftsmanship and is the best you will find anywhere.
The 480 is an incredibly well built yacht with uncompromising Wendon quality.
