Spec Sheet (pdf)

Born from the concept of providing a fast, economical, stable, luxurious motor
yacht comes the Wendon 790 Catamaran. The innovations are apparent when you step
aboard this 80 ft yacht. The quality of construction and beauty are astounding.
However, the 790 goes far beyond your first impressions. As with all Wendon Yachts
the quality, the joinery, the hardware, the systems and their installations, the
electrical and mechanical integrity, and the finest quality components answer
all the questions with a simple statement: Luxury Without Compromise.

The master helm with a large reversible bench seat resides at the front of the
Pilot House. With full instrumentation and controls the yacht is maneuvered effortlessly.
Bow and stern thrusters with color television camera monitors make docking a cinch.
A beautiful circular staircase rises from the Main Salon to the Pilothouse Upper
Lounge which features an upholstered settee and tables. There is abundant storage,
a wet bar with ice maker, and a handy day head. The exterior upper level walk-around
is conveniently accessed through either port or starboard Pilot House side doors.

Main
Salon
The expansive main salon with elegant conservative styling provides the perfect
setting for your choice in furnishings. A full entertainment center includes a
satellite television system with tracking antenna. Sound from the state-of-the-art
audio system is piped throughout the yacht with zone switching. Attractive effective
lighting throughout the Salon adds to the feeling of discreet luxury. The custom
table and chairs framed by the overhead feature suggests fine dining in splendid
surroundings.

The full complement of appliances includes a full size refrigerator/freezer, electric
range with oven, convection microwave, trash compactor, dishwasher, in-sink disposal,
and Corian countertops with double sink. Drawer and cabinet storage is abundant
and finished to exacting standards.

Port and starboard staircases lead downwards from the main deck to the four staterooms
below. There are two queen ensuite staterooms to starboard, plus a queen ensuite
and a twin stateroom to port. Queen staterooms are exceptionally well appointed
with vanity including mirror and lights, custom berths, custom overhead light
setting plus conventional Xelogen ceiling lights, twin reading lamps and recessed
strip lighting. The twin berth stateroom is attractive and well designed. All
cabinets are aromatic cedar lined. Storage is impressive in each stateroom.
Each stateroom comes with its own head featuring Corian sink and counters, tile
floors, full size toilets and generous stall showers.

The 790 provides convenient boarding options when faced with either low or high
dock situations, from port or starboard sides. The tiered aft section of the vessel
introduces one to the vessel by means of generous integral swim step boarding
platforms at the lowest level aft. Substantial secure doors provide entry to port
or starboard engine rooms. Transom tilt davits ensure secure fastening for the
ship’s tender when stowed, while offering ease of deployment and recovery.
A set of stairs from each side leads to the middle or cockpit level featuring
a large propane barbecue and hot/cold sink. From the cockpit level, stairs on
each side connect to the aft deck which is protected by a generous overhead. The
vessel may be boarded at this level on either side when moored at a high dock.
The large settee, snack tables and teak decking provides an attractive locale
for entertaining alfresco while protected from overhead rain or sun.
Docking controls are provided on the main deck aft at port and starboard locations.
Throttle, shift, and controls for the bow and dual stern thrusters make docking
a pleasure.
Wide full-circle exterior walkways are provided on both the main and upper decks.
The upper deck also features a large outdoor aft area for true alfresco entertainment
with ample space for custom furniture, a large storage locker, and a one ton boom
davit for handling items such as personal water craft.

Engine rooms are spacious and well laid out, making the engine space attractive
as well as making it easy to maintain the electrical and mechanical systems. The
vessels cruise comfortably at 16 knots powered by twin Caterpillar 3406E turbo
diesels in the case of Model 791 or by twin DDC/MTU for the Model 792. Two 16
kilowatt generators in sound shield cabinets provide ample power when shore facilities
are not available. The electrical system distribution control features automatic
shore power conversion, and dual power cords are paid out and retracted easily
with electric cable rewind from each stern quarter. Breaker panels are located
two in the Salon and one in the Pilothouse. The AC generator/shore power control
panel is in the aft quarter of the salon.
Air conditioning and two hot water diesel fired furnaces with a unique supplementary
electric boiler system and zone controls ensure comfortable temperatures throughout
the vessel. A 400 gallon per day water maker makes sure that there is always plenty
of fresh water on hand. Storage areas are plentiful and convenient. Washer and
dryer units are located in the starboard engine room.
Fuel, fresh water and waste water tanks are located forward of the engine rooms
in the mid-line machinery space of the vessel between the two hulls. This machinery
space also contains the electric heater for hot potable water, circulating pumps,
the cold fresh water pressure system, a built-in vacuum unit, and easily accessed
runs for cabling, piping and ducting. |
